Sifnos has a pretty good road network which, combined with short distances between its settlements, make transportations on the island easy and fast. The island’s main road network starts from the port of Kamares and leads the visitor to the capital of Sifnos, Apollonia.
From there, all the main highways begin to all the villages of Sifnos. Within about 40 minutes by car you can move from the northernmost settlement of the island to the southernmost (Platis Gialos, Chrysopigi, Lighthouse, Vathi).
If you do not have your own transportation mean or do not wish to rent a car or a scooter, then your transport all around Sifnos can be served by local buses. The starting point of all buses is located in the traditional settlement of Artemonas. The routes are circular to the settlements of Apollonia, Plati Gialos, Lighthouse, Vathi, Castle, Kamares and Heronissos.
You can also get a local taxi to transport you wherever you want in Sifnos. Taxis are an ideal solution for those who do not have a means of transport.
